Case study

Vazhnaya Ryba

A sushi delivery chain in St Petersburg. The entire back office: the kitchen, the couriers, and an order the customer watches in real time — down to which roll is already done and where the courier is right now.

The problem

Ordering sushi is not a purchase in an online shop. It is a physical process happening right now: the product is perishable, time is critical, and between «order accepted» and the doorbell an ordinary shop goes silent. It is in that silence that the customer gets nervous and calls support.

Meanwhile the chain runs on Bitrix: catalogue, orders, payment — all of it there. Rewriting the system of record for the sake of live updates is not an option, and showing the customer a status once every half hour is pointless.

What we did

We built the back office around the real process rather than around the order record.

Result

Hundreds of orders a day Each one passes through the kitchen, a courier and the customer’s screen — in real time, with no manual dispatching. The shop still runs on the same stack today.

Why this one is us

Everything we do came together here: product and process design, interfaces, a heavy system of record, microservices and operations. We did not set out to replace what worked — we added, alongside it, what was missing.
